Women Empowerment in India
Dr. Tessy Thomas: Whenever there is talk of women empowerment in India, the name of those women comes first, which is related to either politics or cinema or business. But apart from this, there are many areas where women are on the path of empowerment and showing strong claim to their side. One such area is the security of the country. Yes, the security of the country is the most important, so why should the participation of women in this area be underestimated. In the past, many women have held their names in high positions in the Indian Army and now this time another woman’s name came to light after successfully testing the 3000 km firepower Agni-4 missile in the link of the country’s missile security. Do you know that the director of this program is a woman.
Dr. Tessy Thomas
Tessy Thomas, popularly known as Missile Woman, is a person who has played an important role in the country’s missile program. Generally, men have dominated the field of strategic weapons and nuclear missiles, but for the last 20 years, Tessy Thomas has been strongly associated with this field. Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) scientist Dr. Tessy Thomas is working on an important project of DRDO and has also worked in the team of former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Tassy Thomas is the first Indian woman to handle the country’s missile project.
Tessy is an inspiration for Indian women who aspire to work in the country’s missile project. Tessy, who was the head of the Agni-2 missile project, has also been given the command of the Agni-5 missile project.
For those who considered women to be fragile till yesterday, Tessy is an example that if women want, they can also play with fire. If you want to run cylinders at home, you can also make missiles to protect the country. It is a matter of pride for India that now women are making their presence felt in every field.
Agni 4
On Tuesday, while strengthening its missile program, India successfully test-fired a new type of Agni ballistic missile capable of carrying nuclear weapons. This missile, fired for testing from an island near the coast of Odisha, has a firepower of more than three thousand kilometers. This missile will be called Agni-4. This missile can also be fired up to a distance of 3,500 km. Agni-IV has new technical features and modern system to ensure improvement in its performance.
Women are generally considered to be a great employee. The focus of women is more than that of men. Therefore, she quickly understands what she reads or does and secondly that women do some work in the best way. Whether it is to take care of the responsibility of the house or the office, it handles everything in a pinch. This is the reason that if women get better education and support from family, then they go much further.
But there is a problem in India that pre-wedding girls here only teach girls so that they get a good groom and life is set and after marriage, their in-laws do not like to send their daughter-in-law to read and write. . Although this does not apply to everyone, it is the condition of most Indians. Some people also tell the reason behind this, that women become ill-mannered after getting out of the house, which cannot be denied. But we have to understand that not all fingers are equal. If women also get the right opportunities, then they too can move forward. At the same time, women should also avoid behavior that raises a finger on their character. The imagination of a successful nation can be fulfilled only when men and women join shoulder to shoulder in the development of the country.

Addressing the session of the ‘Indian Science Congress‘ held in Bhubaneswar in 2013, the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called on the women of the country to come and work in the field of science, calling Tessy Thomas “the scientific gem of India”. .
