Adam Sandler grew up in Manchester, New Hampshire, and was raised in a Jewish family.

His father worked as an electrical engineer, while his mother was a teacher. Sandler attended Manchester Central High School, where he discovered his love for comedy.

He later attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1988.

After college, Sandler began performing stand-up comedy in clubs and comedy shows across the country.
