"The Woman King" is an upcoming historical drama film directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and starring Viola Davis.

The film is inspired by true events and tells the story of the Kingdom of Dahomey, a powerful West African empire in the 18th and 19th centuries, and two of its most formidable warriors, who were both women.
